About the AssignmentWe are looking for engineers who want to help develop the high-quality products and technology of the future within marine vessels. The role involves work in both new construction and modernization projects, with the opportunity to contribute in several phases and follow the entire lifecycle of the products over time. You will be an important link between design and production in an environment with many cross-functional interfaces.
Within Shipbuilding Engineering, the team works with production calculations, construction methodology, and assembly sequences (including geometric securing), make/buy assessments, production aids and fixtures, design analyses, and work order preparation of manufacturing documentation. The work is carried out in close dialogue with colleagues in technology, purchasing, design, and production.
Responsibilities- Work on new construction and modernization projects for marine vessels.
- Develop and refine construction methodology, assembly sequences, and working methods including geometric securing.
- Conduct production calculations and contribute to planning for effective production implementation.
- Support the work with make/buy assessments.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of production aids and fixtures.
- Conduct design analyses related to production and assembly.
- Perform work order preparation based on the product's manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate closely with design, production, purchasing, and other technical disciplines.
- Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, marine design, or equivalent experience from the professional field.
- Good communication and presentation skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of your contributions.
- Persistence and drive to continuously improve and develop working methods and operations.
- Strong technical interest and a curious approach.
- Experience from the marine industry, process industry, or manufacturing industry (e.g., steel, machining, or surface treatment).
- Experience from large-scale and complex development projects or operations.
- Experience in technical project management or coordination within process or product development.
- Experience in design and preparation of production documentation.
